The Recon Scout® SearchStick™ allows tactical operators to deploy the Throwbot 2 robot into elevated or hard-to-reach locations while maintaining standoff distance and cover. Its motorized clamps securely hold the robot, and the pole extends from 20.5 inches (52 cm) stowed to 72 inches (183 cm) fully extended.
Once placed, Throwbot 2 continues to stream real-time video to the handheld OCU II or OCU III, enabling surveillance of attics, rooftops, ventilation shafts, crawlspaces, and other inaccessible areas. After reconnaissance, the robot can be retrieved safely using the same mechanism.
Designed for durability in tactical environments, the SearchStick is rated for 3,000 open/close cycles, weighs 3 lb (1.36 kg), and supports silent, elevated deployment and recovery operations.
